Volume 9
Volume 9 | February 23, 2023
Hello and welcome to Volume 9 of the Access Control Executive Brief titled Quick Update. I have had a good number of new members join the Brief recently so I thought I’d take the time to make sure you are aware of all the resources and opportunities available. Overall, there is a ton going on right now. On that, I should have Volume 10 titled “The New Specifier” out to you next week.
So with that, here is a list of things you should know about:
Archive of past Briefs
You can always access the bast 8 Briefs either online in your account or via Slack (sign up below if you have not yet). You can also access them here:
2: The Opportunity for the Access Control Industry and ESG
3: The Unbundling and Re-bundling of an Industry
4: 4 Things As We Close Out 2022
5: Welcome Back and Quick Updates
7: A Plea to the Built Environment: Get More Curious About Safety & Security.
8: A View of the Access Control & Smart Lock Industry in North America and Europe
Slack Group
As part of signing up for the Access Control Executive Brief, you get access to a private Slack group. Right now there are 141 of your peers online engaging, connecting, and lurking :). I have sent all of you an invite to join, but in case you missed it, please do so here: JOIN SLACK GROUP HERE.
Global Access Control Topology Map

Please find the Global Access Control Topology Map online or in Slack (or here). I update this map every Friday. If there are companies missing, please let me know and I will add them. I want this to be a resource so the more we add, the better it becomes. I have big plans for this map and will be rolling it out over the next 12 months.
Breakfast at MIPIM
If you are going to MIPIM, “the worlds largest real estate event,” please let me know. I am hosting a breakfast on March 15th with Brivo and Salto Systems and would love to have you join us.

The Access Control Theatre at The Security Event

In partnership with LenelS2, Sentry Interactive, Tapkey, and WaveLynx, we will be activating 3 days (4/25 - 4/27) of thought leadership, workshops, education, and networking on the show floor of London’s largest security show. You are welcome to join and if you are interested in partnering on the content, please reach out. Find more information here.

You will also be able to use the space for meetings and networking. We have a bunch of activation happening in the lounge, such as happy hours daily supporting Moms in Security and SIA Rise, Proptech Advisory Board Meeting, Capas, and more. The Access Control Village at CREtech London

For those of you going to CREtech London, the Access Control Executive Brief has partnered with iLOQ, Torus, ZKTECO USA, HID, SwiftConnect, and LenelS2 to create The Access Control Village. At The Access Control Village we are working together to tell a complete story to the real estate community. Please join us at the Magazine in London on May 10th and 11th.
Nexus Labs partnership and discount

As mentioned in V4 Brief, I partnered with James Dice of Nexus Labs on a blog series discussing the intersection of access control and smart buildings. As part of the partnership with Nexus Labs, they offer Access Control Executive Brief subscribers a 10% discount on their membership. I am part of this amazing community and highly recommend you join. Let me know if you are interested and I will connect you with James and Nexus Labs.
Thank you!

PS: I am sure some of you may forward this on but please do so sparingly and encourage others to sign up here. Thank you!
