2. Use of the Site
You agree to use the Site lawfully and respectfully. Prohibited activities include:
- Copying or redistributing content without permission
- Attempting to breach or disable the website's functionality
- Uploading or transmitting harmful code
- Misrepresenting your identity or affiliation
2a. Eligibility
The Site and its membership services are intended for business professionals aged 18 or older. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you are using the Site in a professional capacity or with the authorization of your employer where applicable.
3. Intellectual Property
All website content β including logos, text, graphics, and downloadable content β is the property of The Access Control Collective or its licensors and is protected by copyright and trademark laws.
You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without explicit permission, except where content is made available for download under specified terms.
3a. Privacy Policy
Our collection and use of your personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, available at tacc.me/privacy-policy. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described there.
3b. Third-Party Services
We use third-party platforms, including Kajabi (our membership and community platform), a separate billing platform for corporate memberships, Stripe (our payment processor), and email service providers, to operate the Site and deliver membership services. Your use of those platforms in connection with our community may also be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
3c. AI-Assisted Content
Some content on the Site, including portions of The Secured Brief, The Secured Podcast, or community tools, may be produced or assisted by artificial intelligence tools under Lee Odess's and TACC's editorial direction. TACC retains the same ownership and rights in this content as in any other content it produces. If you interact with AI-powered features on the Site, your inputs may be processed by third-party AI providers as described in our Privacy Policy.
4. Sponsored Content, Events, and Data Sharing
Some downloadable resources (such as whitepapers) are co-sponsored by our partners. By submitting your information to access these resources, you agree that your contact details may be shared with the sponsoring partner. You will be informed at the point of download when a resource is co-sponsored and data sharing applies.
Similarly, if you register for an event we co-host or sponsor (including but not limited to Night of Access or other partner activations), your registration details may be included in a lead list shared with that event's sponsor(s). This will be disclosed to you at the point of registration.
In all cases, you may receive direct outreach from that partner per their own privacy policies. Downloaded content and event materials are for your personal or internal business use only and may not be redistributed without permission.
5. Limitation of Liability
The Site and its content are provided "as is" and without warranty. We are not responsible for damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the Site.
6. Modifications and Termination
We may update or discontinue any part of the Site without notice. We reserve the right to terminate or restrict access at our discretion.
7. Governing Law and Venue
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree that any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Site will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Maryland, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
8. Changes to Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Site constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
9. Contact
For any questions regarding these Terms, please reach out via our Connect page or email us at hello@tacc.me.
10. Membership Communications
By creating a membership account, you opt in to and agree to receive essential membership communications from The Access Control Collective, including onboarding emails, The Secured Brief newsletter, and community updates from The Secured Collective. These communications form part of the membership service. You may opt out of individual communications at any time; opting out of all membership communications requires cancelling your membership.
11. Membership Terms
Membership accounts may be cancelled at any time by contacting us at hello@tacc.meΒ or through your account settings. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period; we do not offer prorated refunds for unused time.
Upon cancellation, your access to member-only content and community features will end at the close of the billing period. We retain your account information (name, email, billing history) for up to 12 months following cancellation for recordkeeping purposes, after which it is deleted. Messages and contributions you posted to The Secured Collective or other community features prior to cancellation may remain visible per Section 12. To request earlier deletion of your account data, email hello@tacc.me.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate memberships for violations of these Terms, including conduct that disrupts the community or misrepresents your identity or affiliation.
12. User-Generated Content
The Secured Collective and other community features of this Site allow members to post, share, and contribute content ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant The Access Control Collective a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, distribute, and promote that content in connection with our platform and services. This license survives termination of your membership with respect to content already posted, though you may request removal of specific content by contacting hello@tacc.me, which we will honor where reasonably practicable.
You retain ownership of your User Content. However, you are solely responsible for what you post. You agree not to submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others.
We reserve the right to remove any User Content at our discretion and without notice. We are not liable for content posted by members.
13. Podcast and Third-Party Content
The Secured Podcast and other content produced by The Access Control Collective may feature guests, sponsors, or third-party contributors. Opinions expressed by guests are their own and do not represent the views of TACC.
Guest appearances do not constitute an endorsement of any individual, company, or product. TACC retains all rights to podcast content it produces, including recordings, transcripts, and derivative materials, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
